Funny stuff

This cartoon appeared in one of our local papers a few years ago, and it was very funny to me on several levels.  First, they used my name.  It's an unusual enough name that you don't see it very often.  Secondly, the cartoon was brought to me by a male friend of mine who, although very supportive of my artistic career, knew little and cared less about art!

By the way, in case you haven't heard of it before, the Ann Arbor (Michigan) Art Fair is one of the pre-eminent art fairs in the country. It's actually several art fairs in one, held every summer in July.

Enjoy!

  2. Felicia,

This reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon.

Calvin: "I wonder where we go when we die?"
    Hobbes: "...Pittsburgh?"
Calvin: "You mean if we're good or if we're bad?"

I was born in Pittsburgh, grew up in Pittsburgh, went to college in Pittsburgh, and continue to live here.

I ask myself this question every winter day.

  3. That's funny, Jodi! Kind of like the "jokes" Detroit gets too. For what it's worth, I have been to Pittsburgh a few times and I love it! I have relatives in PA and they are the craziest, wildest fans of Pittsburgh sports teams.

  4. Yep, I know about those fans. Last year it was absolutely crazy when the Steelers and the Pens won their championships.

  6. Stacey, when my friend handed this to me I was laughing too hard to respond. It was just too perfect!

  7. Thank you for an enjoyable post, Felicia. As a fellow artist (and former Michigander), I loved it and laughed even harder at the one a few posts on asking "Have you ever thought of turning amateur?" Great stuff.

I also very much enjoyed browsing all the lovely creations you have made and posted. Seeing your comment on Marionette's blog steered me to yours, and I'm thankful it did.

  8. Mary, what a sweet, thoughtful post! And thank you for your kind words. Any former Michigander is welcome here. I see you escaped to the south - that's sometimes tempting for me too! I just signed up to follow your blog - it looks interesting. Please feel free to visit with us here anytime.
